After School
At The Common School, the transition from the classroom to the afternoon is a seamless journey into a world of student-led discovery and rich, imaginative play. Every weekday from 3:00 to 5:30, our Reggio-inspired program invites children to follow their own curiosities, transforming their interests into meaningful projects supported by a high staff-to-student ratio. To ensure developmentally appropriate play, we divide our community into two groups: a nurturing space for our younger explorers in nursery and kindergarten, and a dynamic environment for our older students in first through sixth grade. Regardless of age, the heart of our program remains rooted in the natural world, with children spending significant time outdoors connecting with the environment and each other.
Afterschool Drop-In
As you may know, we are very pleased to be able to accommodate drop-ins to our program and offer flexibility to families. However, on any given day, we do have to make sure we have the staffing and resources to accommodate everyone’s needs.
With that in mind, we would like to request that you let us know as soon as you are able that you would like to have your child drop into afterschool, at least 48 hours in advance. To do this, please complete the Afterschool Drop-in Form. If it is a DAY OF EMERGENCY drop-in, please complete the form AND call the school.
