From Springfield, Hartford, and New York City
Take I-91 North toward Northampton. Get off at the Route 9 exit (Northampton/Hadley/Amherst) and follow Route 9 East across the Connecticut River and through Hadley into Amherst. In the center of town, turn right onto South Pleasant Street and continue south past the town common and Amherst College. The school is on South Pleasant Street, about a mile from the center of town.
From Boston and Eastern Massachusetts
Take the Mass Pike (I-90) West to I-91 North, then follow the directions above from the Route 9 exit. For a more scenic route, you can instead leave the Pike at the Palmer exit, take Route 181 North to Route 9 West in Belchertown, and follow Route 9 into Amherst. Near Amherst College, turn left onto South Pleasant Street and head south to the school.
From Albany and Points West
Take the Mass Pike (I-90) East to I-91 North, then follow the Route 9 directions above.
From Vermont and Northern New England
Take I-91 South to the Route 9 exit in Northampton, follow Route 9 East through Hadley into Amherst, and turn right onto South Pleasant Street in the center of town.
From Bradley International Airport
Take I-91 North into Massachusetts and follow the Route 9 directions above. The drive is about an hour.
