Giving

Charitable giving and volunteerism are long-standing traditions at The Common School, and are essential to the financial health and vitality of our school. The school that we have today is made possible by the vision and generosity of many who came before us. As is true in many independent schools, tuition does not cover the full cost of educating a Common School student. Charitable giving helps us to meet our annual budget expenditures and to plan for the future.

Annual Fund

Every year we ask everyone in our community—current families, trustees, alumni/ae and their families, grandparents, and faculty and staff—to do their part to ensure the present and future of The Common School with a gift to the Annual Fund. Our goal this year is $65,000.

Your Annual Fund gift helps us to:

• offer tuition assistance to ensure an economically diverse student body
• attract and retain the best teachers
• purchase and create stimulating classroom materials and curriculum

• On-line Giving - Click the button below to be directed to our secure online credit card donation site via Paypal. Please keep in mind that credit cards fees will reduce your net gift to the school by 3%. Thank you.
  
  
  
  
• Securities We welcome gifts of securities, which can both increase your gift to The Common School and provide you additional tax benefits. If you make a donation of appreciated stock, held for more than one year, you pay no capital gains tax on the transaction and can take an income tax deduction for the full fair market value of the transferred stock. • Matching Gifts If you participate in your company's matching gift program, your gift to the school could be doubled or tripled. Obtain a matching gift form from your company, complete it, and return it to the school.
  
  
• Bequests & Planned Giving - You can leave a legacy of support to The Common School by including the school in your will or designating it as a beneficiary of a life insurance policy. Please contact Dana Kadish for more information.
